For Mandated Reporters

If you are a mandated reporter, please follow these steps:

  • 1. Call the Hotline immediately to report suspected abuse or neglect.
  • 2. Complete the CPS SCAR form (also linked below).
  • 3. Fax the completed form to: (760) 924-1721.

For a list of professionals required to report abuse, please refer to Mandated Reporter Training.

If you are not a Mandated Reporter, please still report suspected abuse by calling the Hotline.

 

Child Welfare Services (CWS)

Child Welfare Services (CWS) is dedicated to ensuring child safety and protecting families.

We do this by: 

  • Looking into reports of possible child abuse and neglect.
  • Stepping in to help families that are not meeting basic health and safety standards required by law.

We help children and families by offering services that aim to prevent child abuse and neglect. Services are free and available regardless of income or assets.
