Governor Brown Appoints Jennifer Halferty as Mono County District One Supervisor

On Monday, July 2nd, Governor Brown appointed District 1 Supervisor-elect Jennifer Halferty to the vacant District 1 Supervisor seat. Supervisor Halferty will be sworn in at the Board’s regular meeting in Bridgeport on July 10th.

The District 1 seat has been empty since June of 2017 when Supervisor Larry Johnston took an extended leave to receive medical treatment for brain cancer. Supervisor Johnston passed in March 2018, after a 10-month battle.

In June, Supervisor Halferty won the election by a significant margin, and became the Supervisor-elect to Johnston’s vacated seat. While County continues to mourn the loss of Supervisor Johnston, it welcomes Supervisor Halferty and a return to a full five-person Board.
