District 5: Lynda Salcido, Vice Chair (2024)

I am very pleased to be representing District 5 on the Mono County Board of Supervisors. Mono County has been my home since 1996. I am bringing many years of experience in local government to the Board of Supervisors and District 5 residents. My experience includes 20 years as the Mono County Public Health Director, as well as serving as the interim Mono County Chief Administrative Officer, Emergency Medical Services Director, Mammoth Hospital Board Chair, Mobility Commissioner, and in many other volunteer positions. But it is the four years that I served on the Mammoth Lakes Town Council that has best prepared me to serve the residents of the 5th District, and Mono County.

District 5 contains an amazing display of all things Mono County – alpine lakes, rugged hiking, and world-class adventures. I will work hard to hear and address your issues including housing, wildfire mitigation, childcare, sustainable recreation and tourism, drought, threats to our environmental protections, and more. I will work to find solutions to our local and greater problems, by collaborating with our partners to address our regional challenges.

Local government is the voice of everyone who lives here, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts.
