Signature Verification / Unsigned Ballot Envelope Instructions

 

IMPORTANT: The Signature Verification / Unsigned Identification Envelope Statement must be received by Mono County Elections Office by 5:00 p.m. on June 30, 2026.


If you received a notice from the Mono County Elections Office or California Secretary of State that the signature you provided on your vote-by-mail or provisional ballot identification envelope does not compare with the signature(s) on file in your voter record or that you did not sign your ballot identification envelope, you may return the completed Combined Signature Verification / Unsigned Identification Envelope Statement [1] to the Mono County Elections Office using the following options:

Combined Signature Verification / Unsigned Identification Envelope Statement & Instructions [1]


A minimum of eight days prior to certification of the election, the elections official shall provide notice and instructions to all voters identified as having noncomparable signatures on their vote-by-mail ballot identification envelopes or their provisional ballot identification envelopes, and all voters identified as having failed to sign their vote-by-mail ballot identification envelopes or their provisional ballot identification envelopes. (Elec. Code, § 3019, subd. (d)(1)., (e)(1)(B).)  

County elections officials shall include a single, combined signature verification statement and unsigned identification envelope statement, along with the instructions, on their internet websites. They shall also provide their mailing address, email address, and facsimile transmission number on the internet web page containing the statement and instructions. (Elec. Code, § 3019, subd. (f).)
