Here is the latest official update on the #EagleTwo Fire from the U.S National Forest - Humboldt-Toiyabe near Bridgeport. Thank you to all the fire crews and first responders that continue to battle this fire. - Jennifer M. Hansen, Public Information Officer

LIGHTNING-CAUSED EAGLE TWO FIRE REMAINS AT 150 ACRES

Bridgeport, California; Aug. 15, 2015 (12:30 p.m.) – Interagency fire crews continue to work to contain a fire burning on the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest just west of Bridgeport, California. Lightning, earlier in the week, caused the Eagle Two Fire. It is currently burning in timber and has remained at 150 acres and is 15 percent contained.

The Buckeye Campground and Buckeye Campground road remains closed at this time due to heavy fire traffic. Additional closures include portions of the Eagle Creek and Buckeye trails. These areas are closed until further notice.

There are a number of partners working together to contain this fire and a special thanks goes to the Mono Sheriff’s Department and Nevada Department of Emergency Management for their additional support.

As of 12:30 p.m., resources assigned to the fire include one air attack, three helicopters, seven engines, three handcrews and various overhead. Mizer Great Basin Type III Incident Management Team is in command of the fire and additional resources continue to be ordered. For additional information on the Eagle Two Fire, visit:

The chance of wildfires occurring has increased due to the recent warm temperatures and long term drought conditions. Forest officials encourage the public to be extremely cautious with activities that could potentially cause a wildfire.
