COUNTY ROAD MAINTENANCE
One of the many responsibilities of Public Works is the maintenance of all County Roads. The Department of Public Works Road Operations are responsible for 684.42 miles of county roadway. Of the 684.42 miles, 181.62 miles are paved, 494.42 are unpaved, and 8.38 miles are surface treated roads. The County's land area has been divided into five "road areas " which employ 3 employees each. These employees maintain county roads by doing minor repairs and snow removal during the winter months.
