The Planning Commission serves to develop policy and recommendations for land use matters in Mono County. This takes the form of directing the Planning Division as to areas of emphasis, holding public hearings on general plans for purposes of amending and/or adoption for transmittal to the Board of Supervisors. The Commission hears all land use matters deemed discretionary, environmental assessments, and impact reports, and hears appeals from staff decisions involving ordinance interpretation. There are five Planning Commissioners, each representing one supervisorial district. The Planning Commission generally meets at 10 a.m. the second Thursday of each month in the Board or Supervisors Chambers at the Mono County Courthouse, Bridgeport, CA.
